9TH WEEK CHECK IN -- SAME GIIRL DIFFERENT HAIR

I've been rocking with this weave for 9weeks.... I think I'm over it!

LOL...

I still love the hair, and how it looks, and the accessibility of not having to do my hair BUT I miss my FRO y'all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got my February Curlbox last week and I can't even play in none of my stuff like I want to *pouts*

So the plan is to wear my hair another few days and then have it taken out this wknd.. I want to deep condition and scratch my scalp! Unless it snows or drops to 15 degrees this weave is coming out..

HAIR IN REVIEW...

I purchased my hair from samegirldifferenthair.com -- this was my very 1st time purchasing online and I will DEFINITELY be ordering from them again

I originally ordered 22' 24' 26' deep wave but my stylist cut it a lot shorter than expected sooooooooooooooooo the longest layer might be 22' long

I never went to get it blown out or straightened but I did put some spiral curls in it on my own

I co-washed at least once a week sometimes twice a week depending on how I felt.. I did not experience very much shedding.

This hair tangled up on me TWICE! BOTH times I went to bed with wet hair and nothing on my head -- totally my fault *shrugs*

For the most part, I wore this hair in its natural state.. The curl pattern matched my hair texture nicely -- I would love to find some hair that had more coil than wave but this hair type will definitely go into my rotation.

I am looking forward to seeing my hair again. I've been pulling at my tracks and its about an inch and a half of new growth! Not bad for 9weeks. I'm still trying to wear protective styles for the rest of the winter so after a good deep condition and a Lil TLC I'm tucking her away again.

BENTONITE CLAY!!!!

I've watched YouTube videos, I've seen blog posts and I HAD TO TRY IT! I jumped on the bentonite clay band wagon last month and I don't think I'm turning back..

Aztec Secret - Indian Healing Clay

$8 @ wholefoods

I finally stopped at wholefoods here in New York to pick this up one day after school. I decided to try it as a facial mask instead of on my hair because my weave is installed.

Facial Mask Mix:

Equal parts clay & apple cider vinegar 

Mix until it has a smooth paste like consistency

DO NOT USE ANY METAL UTENSILS OR BOWL!!!!!

I place the clay on my face and let it harden up (imagine Queen Helene mint julep on steroids) you can feel your face pulsating. Like everything is being drawn out of your face with this mask..

I follow up with a hot towel and a splash of fresh lemon juice.

HAVE YOU NOTICED ANY CHANGES?????

I noticed much smaller pores even after the first use. It shrank up my 'time of the month' pimple immediately and it controls the overproduction of the natural sebum oil in my Tzone -AKA- I'm less shiny!

I'm looking forward to using it weekly and seeing the long term benefits on my skin. After my take down of this weave I plan to do a hair mask with this clay as well jst as a special treatment for my hair.

LAWD HAVE MERCY JESUS!!!!!

I finally broke down and washed my hair after faking all last week. I went thru my old curlbox stuff and I was like I wanna use this, this, this, definitely this and this! Got everything together -- pre poo'd! Shampoo'd! Conditioned and then it was time to style.. LAWD HAVE MERCY JESUS!

SO MY COMBINATION WAS:

MIXED CHICKS LEAVE-N, OYIN HAIR DEW, ECO STYLER OLIVE OIL GEL

I didn't do anything special! No extras! Nothing! Jst put it on my leave out -- two braids around and sleep. When I tell you that my hair was BANGING the next day *yells* BANGING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its so soft and so shiny and so controlled and no frizz and I didn't have to blend with the weave! 

The only thing new was the Oyin.. I love that stuff!

The ingredients are awesome -- I can pronounce everything in it and it works.

It has a very pungent vanilla smell but even that doesn't bother me cuz it works jst that well. I have been spritzing and re braiding every night -- not because I have to but jst so I can wake up with that same awesome hair everyday!

I definitely plan on buying the full size and trying out some different products after the weave is out.

HAIR CHEATING!

Did you miss me?

I'm so srry it was the end of the term last week and a new one jst started this past Monday so I am definitely behind on posts

BUT..............

I'VE BEEN CHEATING ON MY HAIR!

It was so cold here in New York last week and I was so busy with finals that I did not want to even think about my hair and I cheated!

LOL! I am still holding out strong with my weave -- I think this is week 6 -- and although I miss my fro tremendously I simply do not have time to deal with all this hair!

Anyway, back to last week.. Honey it was 18 degrees and who could not be bothered with washing and styling is ME!

I braided down my leave out -- tucked it away and put on a hat!

I even took it so far as curling the ends of this hair AROUND my hat so it would look like I combed it!

THANK YOU! BUT DO NOT PULL OFF MY HAT!!

I styled outfits and jackets around my hat! LOL! It was cheat week and it worked.. I will be picking up some new beanies for future cheat weeks..

BTW... This hair curls beautifully!
